Bill Miska Biography
Bill Miska - I am in my eleventh year in the investment and insurance industry. I started out after a stint in the Navy, with Prairie Island Nuclear Plant in Welch, Minnesota. I spent a few years in operations and fifteen years in maintenance, of which most of that time was as a Steam Fitter Welder. In 1998, I started with Fortis which later was purchased by The Hartford and became Woodbury Financial Services. After working with representatives around the country, I decided to venture out on my own as a Financial Advisor.
I left Woodbury Financial in 2004 and started with UBS in Saint Paul, Minnesota. After a year, I decided to go independent and opened an office out of my home in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. Rich O'Connell also was an independent representative of Woodbury's working in town. We began working as a team when going out to meet with businesses and schools. As we spent more time together Rich offered me an office in his building on Main Street. On Nov 1st, 2010 we changed broker dealers to H-Beck to better serve our clients.
The two of us work well together and,as independent agents, offer a variety of products for our clients for accumualtion, retirement distribution, and estate planning. We believe we are able to help our family and business clients with all aspects of financial planning and investing.
I reside in Ellsworth with my wife of 24 years, Jenny, and my youngest son Jim (16). My daughter, Jessica (21), is a musician and singer/song writer in New York City, and my oldest son, Josh (19), attends college in Duluth, Minnesota. I am very active in the American Legion and, at the current time, hold the office of 2nd Vice Commander of our District. I also love to hunt and fish in my spare time.
I currently hold the following licenses for Wisconsin and Minnesota: Life, Accident & Health, FINRA Series 7(General Securities Representative), FINRA Series 26 (Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Limited Principal), and NASAA Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam)
